Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms", "Agreement") carefully before installing, activating, or using WAXP - WhatsApp Contacts Exporter ("the Software", "WAXP", "Service"), developed and maintained by Codegena ("we", "us", or "our").

By installing the extension from the Chrome Web Store, purchasing a Pro license key, or using the Software in any way, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not install or use WAXP.

1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you (either as an individual or on behalf of an entity) and Codegena. You represent that you are at least 18 years of age and possess the legal authority to enter into this Agreement.

2. Description of Service & Local Execution Model

WAXP is a Google Chrome browser extension designed to help users export contact information from active WhatsApp Web sessions (web.whatsapp.com) into structured Microsoft Excel (.xlsx) spreadsheets.

100% Client-Side Privacy Architecture

WAXP operates entirely within your local browser sandbox. It reads only contact and participant elements rendered on your screen during an active WhatsApp Web session. WAXP does not operate external databases, does not store your contact data on remote servers, and does not transmit phone numbers, messages, or media across the Internet.

3. License Grant & Usage Rights

Subject to your compliance with these Terms and payment of applicable license fees, Codegena grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use WAXP:

  • Free / Trial Tier: Allows exporting a limited number of contacts (up to 4 contacts per export) for trial and evaluation purposes.
  • Pro Tier (Lifetime or Recurring): Unlocks unlimited exports across group chats, unsaved contacts, chatlists, and business labels, subject to the device/activation limits associated with your purchased license tier on Gumroad.

You may not sublicense, sell, rent, lease, distribute, reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the extension source code, except where prohibited by applicable mandatory law.

4. Acceptable Use & User Obligations

You agree to use WAXP strictly in compliance with all applicable local, national, and international laws, including data privacy and telecommunications regulations such as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), and the CAN-SPAM Act.

You specifically agree that you will NOT:

  • Use exported contact data to send unsolicited bulk communications (spam), harassment, or automated marketing messages in violation of WhatsApp's Terms of Service.
  • Collect, harvest, or extract phone numbers or personal data of third parties without having a lawful basis or legitimate business relationship.
  • Circumvent or attempt to tamper with license key validation or extension security mechanisms.
  • Use the Software in any manner that could disable, overburden, damage, or impair WhatsApp Web services or interfere with any other party's use.

6. Third-Party Disclaimer (Meta / WhatsApp)

WAXP is an independent software tool created by Codegena.

WAXP is NOT affiliated, associated, authorized, endorsed by, or in any way officially connected with WhatsApp LLC, Meta Platforms, Inc., or any of their subsidiaries or affiliates. The official WhatsApp website can be found at whatsapp.com.

The names "WhatsApp", "WhatsApp Web", as well as related marks, emblems, and images are registered trademarks of Meta Platforms, Inc. The use of these trademarks is solely for descriptive purposes to identify the platform with which the extension is compatible.

7. Intellectual Property Rights

All title, ownership rights, and intellectual property rights in and to WAXP, including but not limited to software code, branding, logos, documentation, website design, and graphics, remain the sole and exclusive property of Codegena.

8. Warranty Disclaimer & Limitation of Liability

WAXP is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory. Codegena does not warrant that the extension will be uninterrupted, error-free, or permanently immune to changes made by WhatsApp to its web application interface (DOM structure). We make continuous, good-faith efforts to maintain compatibility through regular updates.

In no event shall Codegena, its operators, or contributors be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, goodwill, or business interruption, arising out of or related to your use of or inability to use the Software. Our total liability under this Agreement shall not exceed the amount actually paid by you for the WAXP license in the preceding twelve (12) months.

9. License Termination

This Agreement remains effective until terminated. Your rights under this license will terminate automatically without notice if you fail to comply with any provision of these Terms or upon the issuance of a full refund. Upon termination, you must cease all use of the Software and uninstall the extension from your browser.

10. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or the breach thereof shall be resolved through friendly, good-faith consultation by contacting [email protected].
